About Me

Education & Career

I hold a B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Music from Boston College. During my undergraduate years, I worked in a research lab studying cancer as a metabolic disease under Dr. Thomas N. Seyfried. My work primarily involved cell culture, cell maintenance, and animal pharmacology (mus musculus), through which I developed strong analytical and teamwork skills.

After graduation, I gained clinical experience as a CNA in a hospital medical-surgical unit while preparing for medical school. Although I ultimately pursued a different career path, this period of my life strengthened my interpersonal and critical thinking skills.

Before transitioning into engineering, I knew I had an interest in technology as I had taken some computer science electives during my time at Boston College. Reexploring this field, I completed an accredited graduate certificate in Programming from Harvard Extension School. With new ideas in mind, I began exploring the intersection between the real world and the digital world, which eventually led to my application to Boston University's Late Entry Accelerated Program (LEAP). Now I am currently pursuing graduate studies in Computer & Electrical Engineering, with a focus on analog electronics and embedded systems.

Personal Life

I'm a Vietnamese-American, born and raised in the Bay Area. In 2017, I moved to Boston to attend Boston College and have stayed here since, building my career and continuing my education. Sometime in the fall of 2021, I adopted a rescue cat named Rumi. He has since been keeping me company in my various Boston apartments.

Outside of work and school, I enjoy practicing piano pieces, particularly by Yiruma or from Studio Ghibli soundtracks. In addition to piano, I also have a guitar, ukulele, and Otamatone that I also enjoy practicing (not as experienced with these compared to the piano). Music has always been a way for me to relax, and even Rumi enjoys it. I have caught him multiple times turning on my keyboard just to step on the keys.

In the future, I hope to convert a cargo van into a camper van and take Rumi on an adventure around the states. I know that the experience I gain from this engineering program will come in handy.
